Secondo questo problema simile a github su un altro gioiello, sembra che sia a causa della mancanza di dichiarazione di codifica nel file gemspec

ho controllato JSON 1.5.3 e 1.5.4 fonte , lo hanno entrambi.

Quindi, probabilmente un altro gioiello accanto a JSON, probabilmente non hanno questa linea.

si consiglia di scoprire che gem con il comando bundle install nella cartella principale del progetto.
