DBAPI MySQL Python. Come ottenere un dizionario invece di una tupla?

API Python DB restituisce un elenco di tuple quando viene richiamato il fetchall su un cursore eseguito. Se si lavora con il modulo _mysql, fetch_row ha un parametro how che consente di ottenere un dizionario invece di una tupla. Come posso ottenere lo stesso con il cursore?
